Treatment with your own blood

Treatment with your own blood
(Cleopatra's treatment)

PRF is an abbreviation for the term “platelet-rich fibrin,” which means “platelet-enriched fibrin.” PRF has a wide range of indications in dermatology, cosmetics, dentistry, orthopedics, and other medical fields. It is also called “vampire treatment.” It is used to treat various conditions and to rejuvenate the skin.

I-PRF (PRF (Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is a new method that contains platelet-rich fibrinogen, which is used in liquid form for easier injection. The patient’s blood is centrifuged in tubes without coagulants, so the preparation obtained is 100% natural and is applied to the skin as such. It is a revolutionary process of skin rejuvenation and regeneration using stem cells and growth factors from your own blood. Our blood contains specific growth factors that stimulate the proliferation of fibroblasts and keratinocytes. These cells are involved in the production of collagen and keratin and play an important role in the regeneration of damaged cells and in the creation of new blood vessels, giving rise to young tissue.

The treatment can be combined with different materials such as hyaluronic acid and vitamins. This treatment is called the Cleopatra treatment after Professor Cleopatra Nacopoulos, who developed it.

The treatment is carried out at individual intervals. After just one treatment, an improvement of up to 30% is visible. It is desirable to carry out three treatments. After that, it is recommended to repeat the treatment once a year.

PRF therapy is used for:

Preparation and Application

PRF therapy is quick and easy to perform. Before the treatment, doctors take 10 to 20 ml of your blood using a standard procedure. The pain you will feel is minimal and negligible, just like with a classic blood draw. After that, the doctor uses a special technique, that is, a high-speed centrifuge, to separate the plasma from the other components of your blood.

PRF is a relatively quick treatment. Facial cleansing and application of anesthesia (topical or local anesthesia) usually takes 15 to 45 minutes, while the procedure itself takes only 20 to 30 minutes. During the treatment, some people experience micro-bleeding, but this is normal and there is no need to worry.

Recovery phase

After the procedure, redness, swelling, minimal discomfort in the treated area, bruising, dryness and flaking of the skin may occur.

Most patients return to their normal activities immediately after treatment.

Don’t expect to see a miracle in the mirror the morning after a treatment. After all, collagen doesn’t grow overnight. The first results are visible after a few weeks in terms of moisture, structure and skin tone. The actual results are only visible after a few months, while the full effect is expected for up to two years. After the age of 20, collagen production decreases by 1% annually. Without enough collagen, the skin loses shape and wrinkles appear. Collagen is lost more quickly due to injuries such as acne scars, stretch marks or other scars. During this period after treatment, the skin is revitalized, becomes softer, more elastic and visibly rejuvenates. Over time, wrinkles become less noticeable, scars and stretch marks slowly fade and the skin looks increasingly brighter. It is important to understand that it may take several months to see all the results of the procedure.

Precautionary measures

PRF stem cell rejuvenation therapy is a simple and safe treatment. Since PRP is extracted from your blood, there is no possibility of transmitting diseases, allergies or immune reactions. PRP therapy is not used when there is platelet dysfunction, critical thrombocytopenia, hemodynamic instability, autoimmune diseases, sepsis, acute and chronic diseases, pregnancy, chronic liver disease and anticoagulation therapy,
